TRANSFORM YOUR WARDROBE FROM SUMMER TO WINTER

on December 10, 2018

It’s that time of year again! The summer glow is now preparing to hibernate for the winter under thick long sleeves, and stockings. Accompanied by boots, sweaters, and scarves, the cold winter chill is getting us ready to welcome in the new season of LAYERS.

Of course we remember Mom telling us to LAYER LAYER LAYER before leaving for a cold day of school, but what Mom forgot to teach was transforming SUMMER into WINTER outfits.
No need to go out and buy new jeans, or make sure you buy a proper holiday dress that has enough length for warmth. The already accessible clothes in your closet are the best accessories, and additions to your winter ensemble to make a statement AND stay warm.

The EASIEST part of winter style and the simple pleasures that come with layering is the INTERCHANGABLE mix between your new winter collection. All you need is a few warm staples to pair with your already vibrant summer collection of pieces. We found that any summer dress from your summer wardrobe is the perfect completion for a chic yet sexy holiday style.

Below are some looks inspired by Instagram New York Fashion Blogger, Emma Werner (@thefashionhotbox) who knows how to make a summer dress look like it was MADE for winter.

HERE IS THE OFFICIAL MASTER LIST OF NEEDED LAYERING ITEMS WE COMPILED FOR YOU:

THE GAME CHANGER to summer and winter outfits. A solid pair of black nylons or stockings will give the classy and sleek compliment for an EXTRA added warmth.

PRO TIP: Wear two pairs for an extra black hue along with added warmth!

Simple colors such as white, black, and grey are the basic necessities for the perfect turtleneck piece. Who knew turtlenecks could be hot!?

Turtleneck sizes also may vary depending on the look you are attempting to achieve in the neck for the paired item. Turtlenecks can be worn under any tank dress, jumper, or baby doll dress for a blank canvas and a color-blocking

A loose knit white sweater, specifically in white is a crisp compliment to whatever summer dress or skirt you may have.

That darling tropical dress you wore to your Cancun trip over summer, suddenly can be transformed into a holiday skirt with a white sweater, thick black stockings, and knee high boots. If you have a favorite summer jumper, the white sweater provides depth and coziness to a new take on the overalls.

The black crop sweater is an edgy addition to a lightweight mix of color and fabric. Pair a place crop knit sweater with a flowy baby doll dress with translucent black nylons and a solid pair of rockin’ DocMartens.

The best part of fall fashion is the limit does not exist. The easiest part of fall fashion is that the summer dresses don’t have to be put away! There is so much more room to play around with different types of layers and scarves that will complete the perfect fall look.
